Rye House IKR Round 6 14th August 2022

16 August 2022

A It was a bad race.

The worse race of the year.

Perfect storm.

We never got the testing right on Saturday and Sunday went worse:

Qualifying: had an accident. Bent the rear axle and Go-Pro snapped off…

Then we hear later that we were disqualified because we were supposedly as much as 1.5kg underweight 69.5kg instead of 71. Kart weighted 72.5kg before the race. Maybe something snapped off not sure.

Heat 1: Missed the heat as we were not in time to repair the rear axle

Heat 2: DNF engine bogging and shut down

Heat 3: Started fast. Managed to follow the top 4 for a bit then the engine started bogging again. Ended 5th.

Big congrats to @MarleyWordie, Mason from @Bam_racing_and @ronnie_kempson13for an extremely tight race and great battles. It was great to watch.

Tough one but we go again in September.

First of all I moved from Bambino to Micromax 1 year early at 7 years old and I am extremely happy that I did so. The comer engines in Bambino were a night. Rotax engines are so much more reliable and I love the power!

Overall a decent week-end, especially for the team.👏

A very hot day racing in 30C+, Adam went through almost through 3 liters of water during the day. On Saturday, Adam has his best time ever with a restrictor at 46.99 – an improvement on his previous best by 0.46 seconds! However, on Sunday, Adam was at least a second slower – he blames his dad for messing up his engine! But having said that he was still very happy to end up on the podium. Big congrats to Marley Wordie (P1) and Finley Bedford (P2) Quali: P3 Heat 1: P4 Heat 2: P4 Final: P3

Adam finally got a podium this weekend at Rye House! A great achievement, and an even greater present for his dad on Father’s Day! In attendance was also Adam’s godfather Stavros, and great family friend Tim Garwood . Quali: P3 Heat 1: P3 Heat 2: P5 Adam was as running P3 for most of the race, and in a tight race with Ronnie Kempson and Rex Pooley. There was a lot of traffic on the last bend, and Ronnie and Rex overtook Adam – well done to them! Heat 3: P3 and fastest lap of the race! We would like to say thanks to Stewart Kemp (nr 12) who lent Adam a 60 jet, he went the whole weekend with the same jet and the temperature was too low, resulting in the last race only reaching 148c. Lastly, we would like to congratulate Dillon Palmer on the great job he did, and say a massive congratulations to Marley Wordie and Finley Bedford Motorsport

This race was a very tough one to digest, Adam qualified P6 after a mess up on tyre pressures (25psi instead of 15Psi) which totally messed him about. Heat 1: P6->P4 Heat 2: P5 -> P3 Final: P5 -> straight to P3 at the start, until Adam was hit in the side, causing the engine to shut off and resulting in a total disaster – much to Adams disappointment. A hard one to recover from, however, Adam nailed every single start, and jumped 2 karts in the first lap.
